Is Darwinian evolution just a theory? There is so much new evidence contradicting each other. I found this very interesting article stating that according to Hoffecker there is a new archaeological evidence for the evolution of a human “super-brain” that started 75,000 years ago. Apparently  Stephen Hawking agrees with Hoffecker. Hawkins says that it has taken homo sapiens several million years to evolve from the apes, using the information taken from our DNA. Hawkins says  that we have entered a new phase of evolution. If you want to read the article follow the link below.

How Women Need to Look After their Well-Being

February 28, 2011 Leave a comment

Here is something that we all know instinctively, but it is good to get a reminder now and again about how clever we are!!

Another’s thought to share…..
“I just finished taking an evening class at Stanford. The last lecture was on the mind-body connection–the relationship between stress and disease.  The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends.  At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.

Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time” helps us to create more serotonin–a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being.  Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy & talk about how they feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going.  Jobs? Yes.  Sports? Yes.  Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf?  Yes.  But their feelings?–rarely.  Women do it all of the time. We share from our souls with our sisters & evidently that is very good for our health.  He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym.

There’s a tendency to think that when we are “exercising” we are doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively engaged–not true.  In fact, he said that failure to create & maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as dangerous to our physical health as smoking!  So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat yourself on the back & congratulate yourself for doing something good for your health!  We are indeed very, very lucky.  Sooooo let’s toast to our friendship with our girlfriends. It’s very good for our health.”

The breath is one of the most powerful tools you have to control your stress and anxiety. The breath helps to still your mind and transform destructive energy into a force and vitality.

The negative thoughts and self talk can deplete you of your vital energy and make you tense and stressed. When you are in this situation it is difficult to calm down even if you are fully aware of your self-destruction. The most powerful technique is to breathe correctly.

How you breathe can predict how well you age and it is a good indicator of your physical, mental and emotional condition.

By learning how to breathe you can induce a state of relaxation that is therapeutic. You can reduce pain and improve quality of sleep. Also you can reduce anxiety, ease headaches, slow down your heart beat, reduce blood pressure and even improve digestion.

The Breathing Technique: Sit up right in a chair, breathe in deeply through the nose all the way to your stomach  to the count of four. Hold the air in your stomach to the count of four without forcing. Breathe out through your mouth to the count of eight. Do it for 5 minutes or until you are totally calm.

In time with practice you will be able to slow down your breath to the count of 5, 5, 10 and so on.

This technique is great for pre-interview, pre-exam situations.

This is a very simple brain exercise that you need to do every day for 5 minutes. Do it at least once a day, but better still twice a day.

1. Stand upright and grab your right earlobe with your left hand and put a little pressure

2. Grab your left earlobe with your right hand and apply a little pressure

3. Squad slowly inhaling

4. Stand up slowly exhaling

Do it for 5 minutes at the time.

This is also a fantastic prevention method from the brain aging.
